Window on a Garden in Tuscany

For this painting the view from my sister’s study in the palazzo at Pisa inspired me.
I was especially intrigued by the colorful foliage framing the window as well as the light reflected on the inner shutters. Naturally, the color of the leaves shows that it is early to late fall, when the hues are so marvelous. I also liked contrast between the outside leaves and the colors/shapes of the Christmas cactus inside.
