This sunset was captured en plein air/alla prima on July 13, 2022 along the beach of George Lake in Killarney Provincial Park, Ontario. During my time as their artist in residence, I had the privilege of being able to paint in some of the same locations as the iconic Canadian Group of Seven members who aimed to preserve Killarney Park for its natural beauty. Just after I tucked my dog Blossom to bed in our 2 person tent, I scurried down to the beach to churn out a couple paintings of the glowing peach sunset.
