A New Dream

Sometimes our plans get derailed for heartbreaking reasons that we can't explain. Loss in all its forms brings opportunity for reflection and with it the search for a new dream. This piece was inspired by such loss for myself this past winter and the realization that if I look long and hard enough, a new dream will motivate me to keep pushing through this time. The inspiration for this piece was video demo production created for AAPL_nyc for the membership and can be viewed through their resources and coming soon to my YouTube channel! A burnt sienna grisaille underpainting was used to establish values and perspective before starting the 2 - 3 passes of color using a limited palette of cad yellow, alizarin crimson permanent, ultramarine blue, ivory black and titanium white. No medium was used except for the OMS in the early stages.
