Matilija Poppies Wind Dance

Painted in on location plein air. IT was a really windy day and I wanted to capture these blooms of one of my favorite flowers before they all blew away! So this painting was done very quickly and a streamline efficiency of paint strokes as the poppies danced about like fairies in the wind. I was pleased with the results of working quickly. I have don’t these for several years and I felt this one was my best capture yet.
