This landscape was inspired en plein air in Heber, UT. It is painted with oil on board and is characteristic of many Utah valleys with the seemingly endless farm and pasture land. When I paint a picture I often have in my mind one or many artists who's work is generally impressing upon my decisions and brushwork. For this piece, I had in my mind a landscape by Edward Seago which I have not been able to find but made such an impact on me for it's dynamic shapes and fearless color pattern. My submission to the PleinAir Magazine is my attempt at to be brave and unpredictable.
